The Counseling Process Is A Dynamic And Progressive Style

Counseling clients with disabilities offers unique challenges due to the complexity of resolution and maintenance in the counseling process. There must be working knowledge of the counseling process in order to transform theory into good sound practice. There are 4 distinct areas that affect the client’s ability to succeed: social, physical health, motivation, and financial. Success is only determine by the ability of the counselor and client to define the goals of counseling and work towards those goals collaboratively. My research will focus on gaining insight on how and why these areas make counseling individuals with disabilities rewarding yet challenging. PROBLEM AREAS The counseling process is a dynamic and progressive style or approach to helping the client to succeed with the purpose of providing a blueprint for success. The counseling process is a complex and yet systematic process which follows a series of events. It involves steps, levels, techniques, skills, time and changes for each process and usually happens through certain processes. (Rahman, 2012) The process in itself is a continual working model that is a necessary tool to organize and provide a service to clients. There are many different theoretical models to use but all must use a delivery system for application which is the counseling process. Counseling clients who are coherent in their thought process enables the counselor to focus on moving the client to a successful end.
